Clean Your Dishwasher

If you are lucky enough to have a dishwasher, then you know what a time saving appliance this is…but to keep it up and running and cleaning at its best, you need to do a few things…but it doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money to do these things…There are times when your dishwasher can get coated with grease on the inside and you need to clean this off or it could end up back on your dishes.

The easiest way to do this is to put 1 cup of bleach in a dishwasher safe bowl and run your dishwasher on wash setting only.  When this is done, then put 1 cup of vinegar in the same bowl and now run your machine through the full cycle.

Most dishwashers have sprayer arms that can be removed quite easily to be cleaned.  Just unclip them and soak in some white vinegar & water.  1 part vinegar to 3 parts water.  Soak for a couple hours or over night.

After you give your dishwasher a good ’spring’ cleaning, why not keep it clean with a simple monthly cleaning trick.  Pour one packet of orange or lemon drink mix into the detergent dispenser and run your dishwasher through a full cycle.  This will freshen and degrease your dishwasher.

Is your dishwasher starting to smell a little?  Why not add a little lemon juice to your dishwasher each time you use it.  Adding 1/2 cup of lemon juice can make your dishwasher smell wonderful.

Keeping your dishwasher clean will help your dishwasher work better, so try these quick and simple ideas to get cleaner dishes.
