Dryer Sheets – and their other uses

Most of us have dryer sheets around our laundry room.  You hate to throw them out, but you’re not really sure what to do with them after you’ve used them in the dryer.  Well, guess what, I have a some suggestions and tips that will use up all those old dryer sheets and even a tip or two for unused dryer sheets. Why not use your used dryer sheets to dust with.   You can use your furniture polish and dryer sheet together for a wonderful shine.

Unused dryer sheets will help keep bugs away when you are enjoying the outdoors.  Rub the unused dryer sheet over all exposed skin when you are outdoors to keep biting insects away and then place it under your lawn chair to keep bees at bay.

Staple a mesh ‘pocket’ to the lid of your hamper and put an unused dryer sheet in the ‘pocket’.  This will keep your hamper fresh.  You can also keep an unused dryer sheet in your dresser drawers to help keep your clothes smelling fresh and just washed.

Dampen a used dryer sheet and use it to clean the soap scum from your shower and tub.

When washing your car, use an old dryer sheet and wipe those dead bugs off the front bumper of your car.

Keep your stockings from attracting static cling.  Wipe a new dryer sheet up and down your legs after you have put your panty hose on and you won’t have static cling all day.

After giving your dog or cat a bath, you can wipe them down with an unused dryer sheet.  This will make them smell nice and it will keep them from having the static clings.

Use those old dryer sheets to clean out the lint traps in your dryers or to wipe down the washers and dryers.
