Inexpensive Christmas Card Ideas

Holidays can become quite expensive if you don’t watch what you are doing.  Not only are there gifts that you need to get for your family and friends, but cards to send out, cookies to make, gifts for parties you go to, food for parties you have and the list goes on.  But you don’t have to spend a lot to have a great Holiday Season! So the next couple posts will have tips for saving during the holidays.  Let’s start with saving on Christmas Cards.

If money is tight, you can skip the cards or only send them to close friends and family…you can always send a holiday email to everyone else…let them know you are trying to do your best to go green this holiday season…
Purchase Christmas postcards.  They are cheaper to mail than a regular Christmas Card and they are usually cheaper to purchase.
Make your own cards.  You can purchase some card stock and print the cards off the computer.  Most computers come with a basic card maker program.
Hand deliver your cards whenever you can.  Will you see your sister before the holidays?  Why not give her card to her when you see her.  It’s the thought that counts, not whether the post office got their hands on it first.

It’s never too late to start saving for next year.

Take the Christmas cards you get from family and friends this year and cut the fronts off of them.  You can use these as post cards for next year.  And if you don’t want to make the mistake of sending your friend the front of the card they sent you this year, purchase some post its and put their name on them or, go ahead and address them to someone else and keep them with your address book for next year.  Not only will you be saving money, but time.

Christmas decorations and cards go on sale right after the holiday, so why not purchase them at that time and save them for next year.
