Reducing Your Credit Card Use
Knowing how to reduce your interest amount is important to reducing your credit card debt, but reducing the use of your credit card is another important step. So how do you stop the temptation?Did you know that you can ask your credit card company to reduce your credit limit? This will keep you from spending more than you can afford. So if your limit is $5,000.00, then call the credit card company and see if you can get it reduced to $1500.00, etc
Before using your credit card, do a little calculation. Figure out how much this credit purchase is really going to cost you. You have the purchase price, the interest charges and how long it will take you to pay it off. Something that cost $100.00 could cost you $150.00 to pay off…That’s $50.00 you could use for something else.
Stop getting all those tempting credit card offers in the mail. You can call 888-567-8688 and request to be removed from the credit card junk mail list. Also, call your credit card company and let them know that you do NOT want your information shared with anyone or any other company.
And one of the last things you can do to reduce your credit card use is to leave your credit cards at home when you go shopping. Freeze your credit cards. This way you won’t be tempted to use them because you have to wait for them to thaw out…but you still have them if you have an emergency.
